The DCS system is primarily a clearing house ensuring that incoming messages conform to EDIFACT standards while the PPS system validate message based on criteria mapped out by TDB. Hence, PPS is basically a TDB system running on SNS machine. Message is validated and if goods are Dutiable then interaction with Customs and Excise Department is also required.

The PPS system runs on the IBM machine in both CICS & batch mode and is developed on COBOL language. It also consists of similar components to DCS system. But here main validations according to TDB requirements are done. Here lot of COBOL & DB2 programs runs. There is interaction with CUSTOMS and CA systems through MQ series. Here only Permits or rejected Status are generated and send to Trader.
In this project we have two types of front Ends. One without Web is created on VB and with Web in Java. This project is latest of its own which follows UN standard.
